Wowwowwow. thanks Venkat!
What a laugh I had... Helped me digest a heavy breakfast.
If Baracka and Mitta have that level of clarity re Darbari Kanada and tirakiTagadiginatom..and combine so well, we should think of inviting them to fix India too...
Here we have besur, besharam, betaals blowing away all public money, without rhyme or reason!

The debate needs to come back to India. The government should look into FDI in classical music at the earliest. Modern methods of transport and storage will ensure that the consumer gets fresher music with less waste, and competition will mean more choice.

Re: Romney and Obama debate on Indian Music
This video made me sit up straight on my chair!!! I never ever imagined that Romney and Obama would discuss about Indian Classical Music in the Presidential debate!
Really awesome of the two to know so much about Indian classical music to be able to talk about Darbari Kaanada etc. on the spot!! Kudos!
Makes me wonder about how an top honcho in India would have reacted to such a topic in a discussion..... "Darbari Kaanada??? Hmm - is it a food item which is available only in Karnataka????"

VKailasam,
Thanks for the Obama Romney debate on Carnatic music. Both of them seem to have a good knowledge of Carnatic music! Very timely with the elections coming up.
