Shining eyes. The why of classical music.

Post by Rsachi »

It's 4 am. My usual inspirational moment. I am watching this lovely TED talk on the power of classical music.
Benjamin Zander covers it beautifully about
....one butt playing...
......the Aaah moment when we come home to classical music...
........shining eyes: everyone loves classical music, it's just that they don't know it yet.

Is that the one in which he explains why most youngsters give up learning to play piano after a given number of years, and how it is connected with the way they play the beat? Excellent lecture. 4am? Great way to start the day!

You might enjoy Prof. Wright's Yale University course on Listening to Music. Less fizz than Mr Zander, but a wonderful enthusiasm, love and depth of knowledge, and a skilled communicator of it. A great overview of Western classical

It's a series of twenty lectures! But the first is a taster, and it got me hooked.

Yes, I did see the Benjamin Zander lecture a while back. I will watch it again.
