1 to 5 stanzas of dasaslOki - ragamAlika - Adi? - Adi Sankara (the second stanza I believe was in Saranga)
kayou sri gowri - sounded like one of Tagore's song - Adi - Basavappa Shastry
marukkulAviya - pUrvikalyAni - rUpakam - arunagirinAthar
mangalam

Went in as he was at the nE paradEsi in the harikambhOji number. Believe that was the first number. What a cracker of a concert it was. Quite long since I had been to a live concert and BVB main hall was filled by 6:50 when I reached there. What a lalithA it was! (cue kEttarp piNikkum thagayavAik kElarum) Karaharapriya alapanai & violin return were just out of the world - it had a feel like you are walking up the stairs and zig-zag enthusiastically and jump steps. Such a pep and vigor.

I still hear kalyAni + pantuvArali for latAngi :(

Two things - just 2 hours is not sufficient, especially for VS - started at 6:45 and finished on dot at 8:45 - another half an hour would have been great; post main, the concert took on a bhajan kind of mood ;) Would have been great if he had taken a RTP and then couple of wrap up items (can dasaslOki be called a thukkada?)

Kayau Sri Gouri was the benedictory anthem of Mysore princely state.
Vijay Shiva seems to bring a quiet competency and intelligence to CM!

Janaki Ramana in Suddha Seemanthini was the first song.

Of course, this is the song I referenced when I said Sri Thyagaraja has compared people without bhakti to mad elephants: bhakti hInajana madagaja jAla.

Taking that hint, Vijay Siva has emphasized the point!

As did Sowmya the previous day when she also sang this krithi.

Mad elephants have no place in Carnatic music concerts!

It is an open ended nirvana concert , cant understand why artists wrap up by 08:45pm.Vittal and vijaysiva combo would have been a good testimony to nidhanam.tx for your review.

If there is a scheduled ending time / duration, it is best stuck to imo. It is like overstaying one's welcome to exceed that beyond a point. Organizers -- and audiences -- have to get back home, get a night's sleep and get to the next day's work, after all.

Coincidentally , srilanka Nationala Anthem sounds as a copy of " kayou sri gowri "
