Smt. Sudha Ragunathan started off her season and the concert with Kedaragowla Varnam. It took few minutes for the voice to settle down and she was in full form from there . Then came the Sri Ganapathini and it was sung very nicely with some crisp swaram wanting for more. Anna poorne Brought out the full essence of Sama. The Hall both inside and outside were overflowing with Rasikas,
Begada was taken up next for a sub main and thyagarajaya nasmasthe was rendered in slow tempo with rounds of kalpana swarams. Next came the filler nambi kettavar evarayya and was very nicely sung.
Detailed Aalapana of Keeravani Ragam followed by the krithi kaligiyunte. Both were rendered with so much of bhavam. Her theermanam swarams were really too good. Thani was nicely done by Skandha subramanian and Raman.
When Thani was going on, one of the Rasika stood up and requested for Baro krishnayya and Kurai ondrum which she obliged. Baro krishnayya was so emotive. She just went into those lyrics and for a moment there was similarity in the way MLV amma used to render it. Overall it was a very good concert to start the season !
