Sanjay – BGS concert: The concert was well sung, elaborate etc. But the typical Sanjay ‘ trade mark ‘ planning was missing on such a long 3 hours 40 minutes concert. The so elaborate Karaharapriya RTP was looking empty in the end without any Ragamalika swaras. The thukkada’s in the end were also limited in numbers & audience were asking like the good old Maharajapuram days. Someone from the behind was mentioning before the concert started that nowadays Sanjay sings only Tamil songs. I don’t know how it reached Sanjay- there were only one or two tamil krithis that day.

You really need to start taking the time to look up and list the accompanists' names in your reports. It is highly disrespectful to them!

Sometimes, we rasikas miss out to listen to the artist.. We always have something to crib about the concert. RTP swaram can be rendered in single ragam.. it's absolutely the choice of the artist.. It no were relates to concert planning.

I agree with the OP that the concert was a bit RTP (adi 4 kalai) heavy. But he sang his heart out and the audience loved it. I think he customizes the fare according to the sabha attendee profile.

It is a open ended nirvana concert .Glad that sanjay sang for 3 hours and 40 minutes . IT was a 6 pm concert start too.More glad that the BGS sabha allowed .Kharaharapriya RTP really requires time is my latest find.
