Sometimes, you love to write a review for a concert. Here is this..
Rasikas who assembled in MA on this vaikunta Ekadasi day could not have asked for more. Sri TR showed vaikuntam through his impeccable music.
I am yet to find a superlative word for his concert. It is very hard to tell you which of the accompanists excelled better than other. It was 400% fully charged concert. After the concert was over, Sri TR stood up accepting 5 minutes standing ovation. At this age, he proved that age has got nothing to do if you had a guru like GNB and worshipping music like his guru.
See his amazing list. Any true GNB fan would like to hear from Sri TR, a ranjani varNam. Yes he started with the same.

5. rAgam-BegadA- followed by kalayAmi ragurAmam – Swati TirunAl and swaram in dymaNi kula tilakam.

7. Bairavi-main- sarvAndaryAmi-Thyagarajar-Neraval in “tAriteliyadhu kontenu”- Swaram

11. HindustAni geet- rAga Hamir- (he said- in memory of his Hindustani guru Pandi KrishnAji). The song was like this “.....kaisE ghar jAvUn”

13. yogeendrAnAm-verse from nArayaneeyam- Hamsanandi, Danyasi, sahAna, surutti.

In MA, he must have rendered maximum number of kritis. Each and every kriti is a stamp of GNB and AAA+ rated. Some excerpts.
OVK song has got 9 saraNams. He rendered it beautifully. With swara jatIs.
Violin-MAS was in full swing. He played less time but the amount of bhAvams in his return was amazing. Along with Sri TR claps were pouring many times for him. He played less to accommodate to hear more from Shri TR.
Shanmugapriya- that is the RTP I was yearning for. In a three stage rAgA Alapana, he brought the essence of the rAgA.
I thought my search for good music ended with this after I came out.
Tani- ME and Suresh- outstanding. After a long time, heard breathtaking kaNakkus from Ghatam. ME ever-smile added more taste to this “feast”.
Cleveland Sundaram, Ravikiran were there to enjoy that ambience. How one should enjoy the concert, one shoud learn from Sri.M.Chandrashekaran who was also present.

Yes, they should give him an award for most genuine rasika on and off stage. I have never seen anyone so moved by music as he is. His nonverbal responses are so spontaneous and sincere.

I am sure it would have been an emotional concert for Sri Ramachandran in his 50th year performing at the Academy. Like his Presidential speech ( http://www.musicacademymadras.in/2012/P ... andran.pdf ), the concert list is a genuine tribute to his guru, Sri GNB!

Excerpts of this concert were broadcast today morning in Chennai "A" at 8-45 am. The AIR made a mess of it while editing their recordings/broadcast of the first song. I do not know how many of you heard it. More over you can hear some unnecessary hissing noise during their announcement. The same thing in FM Gold. I expected this coming! A classic example of understanding each others music. MC is top class in this piece and specially the last bit of swara kalpana. TVR is humble and sincere in appreciating this and request for a grand applause.

Varsha, an excellent brindAvana sAranga from the vidwans. Thank you for the piece. MC's raga (those glides to shadjam!) and swara responses are full of bhAvam, and TVR is as appreciative as he generally is with accompanists. Who is on the mrudangam?
