I've listened to it before from Vedavalli maami. It's a beautiful composition.

I don't think many would want to miss Mannargudi Easwaran sir's thani. He just knows how to keep the audience interested the whole time.

If you are talking about the Mukhari padam, then TMK has sung this as main few years ago.. http://rasikas.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=9964

I think it is by Muddu Natesa, and the pallavi is 'kASiki poyyEnE' http://rasikas.org/forums/viewtopic.php? ... 00&p=24477

Whilst I was so sad to miss this concert, performances by another of the spiritual inspirations in my life, Pandit Birju Maharaj and Saswati Sen, are so rare here that I went to sit at his feet yesterday evening.

All being well, I shall be back with Smt Vedavalli in three days time, after seeing her daughter sing an earlier program.

Moved Nick's write up of Pandit Birju Maharaj and Saswati Sen program to its own thread. It deserves that visibility.
