I went to this concert after hearing AIR recordings of Srikanth on Sangeethapriya. Srikanth sings a lot of rare pieces (rare ragas or rare compositions in popular ragas). He lived up to that reputation. The most well known kriti in this set was Brovavamma which is seldom sung these days! Excellent concert - very nice Durbar and Mandhari alapana. Only thing I will fault him is time management - he could have cut down a kriti and used that time for the RTP. The violinist was precise and brief... He took about half or less time for his solo returns. Ajith's Sankarabharanam was very good. Thani was about 10 mins and I don't know enough laya to comment.

A wonderful choice - especially the sentiment (which could be extended to sangItam) - 'hariya karuNadoLAda bhAgyava hari samarpaNe mADi..'knrh05 wrote:Slokam (gitam 'Kereya neeranu' was sung as a slokam) to end the concert.
