Well, this is not a concert report but a report on what happened in a concert. Let me elaborate.
Even before this concert started, Violinist M.Chandrasekhar and his assistant were seen seated in the 1st row in an otherwise empty 1st row.
5 mins into the concert, an aged security man walked in and asked M. Chandrasekhar and his assistant to vacate the seats and move to seats behind. The assistant was seen trying to reason out but it appeared the security said "rules are rules". Perhaps the rule is that only VVIPs can occupy the 1st row and it appears this Sangeetha Kalanidhi is not one. After some 4 - 5 mins of "discussions", both MC and his assistant walked out of the doors, perhaps MC walked out frustrated.
Couple of members of public ran after them out of the door, don't know what transpired, perhaps they tried to pacify ... After around 10 mins MC and his assistant returned and occupied seats in the second row.
20 mins into the concert, Chitravina N.Ravikiran + 1 (P.Ganesh ?? ) occupied 2 seats in 1st row. I was waiting for similar action and soon saw a lady security person asking them to vacate the seats. Some discussions followed and the lady left and sent a young male security person instead and some more discussions followed. It appeared NR convinced the security person how he is a VVIP and the security man left. NR +1 continued in their seats for the next 20 mins before they left voluntarily (or perhaps that was the deal -- 'don't evict me and I will go on my own shortly')
I thought MC deserved much better treatment for his stature, vidwat and for what he is as a person...

What an admirable choice of words!Jayalakshmi wrote: They sounded heavenly with no unnecessary adambaram in their music...!
A musician once said to me that their music contains "no frills".
No "aadambaram", no "aarpaattam", no "frills"; just music that you hear, internalize, and enjoy!
