I am generally not given to hyperbole, but Ashvin is just something else! Absolute diamond and such a worthy torchbearer of TKR's musical legacy.

I was hoping you would complete the list!semmu86 wrote:Thank you
On a related note, there was this concert where MS was performing in New Delhi and Rajiv Gandhi (probably, PM at that time) was seated in the front row. As MS sang the line in the mangalam "Rajeeva nayana, Thyagaraja vinutha" Rajiv Gandhi looked up startled, thinking MS was calling him. (This was pre-Youtube days so I must have seen it in TV).
I am wondering how Robert Vadera would react if someone sang "Vadera Daivamu" in a concert in his presence.
Anyway, it qualifies as the corporate anthem for DLF, if you are following contemporary news.

PS. Do you think in future days, we will discover more names of the Ruling Dynasty of India in the compositions of the Trinity?

Harimau, you are giving ideas to the sponsors: Product placement. There has to quite a few sponsors who can find their product names in the Trinity compositions. And as the artist starts the song, a message flashes above: ..... brought to you by ..... One shudders to think.. May be a thread in the 'Hilarity in concerts' sectionharimau wrote:PS. I do not know much about Sri. Ashwin. I will get acquainted with his music.

I have heard him a couple of times. He is a worthy heir to his grandfather's legacy.

sreebecane,
Who is the grandfather? Again, you are speaking of Ashwin or Madurai B. Sundar?

On a Sunday morning at around 10:30am during the season wandered into MFAC and was listening to this young artiste winding up swarams in Shanmukapriya. I had just about 30 minutes of listening time and told myself that if the next one is a Tamizh song I will sit and listen.
What came after that simply mesmerised me. It was the immortal "Endraikku Siva Krupai..." in Mukhari of Neelakanta Sivan. The next 10 to 15 minutes was simply emotional and magical.
The young artiste was DB Ashwin.
HE IS JUST TOO GOOD !
