It was very fuzzy 4 or 5 years back , now it is only there at one place.

1 Best Vocal - Senior artist - Nagam yogaswamy which sowmya got as per mahavishnu. I think this is most coveted

1 best pallavi

The fuzziness is apart from giving two outstanding subsenior vocalists award , they also have an award called best Lady vocalist . It is gender neutral in senior level but in sub-senior it is not (atleast talking with the website link)

Glad that JV got as I attended his concert where he played with Vijay. Ofcourse JV has also played for Smt aruna sayeeram too which I did not attend.

Rajesh: Apparently, Pappu Venugopal Rao has promised to keep the site up-to-date etc with all of these details going back to the 1929-30 season. This includes awardees, songlist information from each concert and the scanned copies of all the souvenirs. We'll see if this happens soon.

The online journals are already a great addition to the academy website. It will take years to go through the articles there.

The other awards are usually only big news in the hard core rasika community and on junior people's CVs; most of which will be promptly read aloud by some overzealous organizer when they are on their US trips next summer.

G_g: I wish. I have been vicariously following the season from here in subzero conditions. Thanks to reliable sources, I have kept up with most of the happenings. Unfortunately, I couldn't get anyone to cover the traditional MFAC morning concert.

I hope someone will post a review. For now, this will have to do

MFAC without the senior Lalgudi on the New Year morning looks empty though Missing the traditional Lalgudi trio concerts followed by Woodlands lunch.

In the junior catagory Trivandrum sampat got the violinist award
and Sumesh narayan got the award for mrudangam
smt R.S. Jayalakshmi got for veena
there was also an award for Mandolin Srinivas

there were some awards for HCL series one was vishnudev namboodiri

tx malavi sumesh narayanan is a very deserving player - heard him once . NOt heard trivandrum sampat. Congratulation to both JUnior artist awardees.

Best Sub senior concert award was to K Gayatri and team, best sub senior female vocalist to Sangeetha Swaminathan.
Spirit of Youth Best Female Vocalist award to N J Nandini, and Best Male Vocalist to Anirudh Venkatesh.

There was a novel concept RTP in misra triputa with the male and female pairs of ragas. Alapana was done with mohanam and danyasi. Ragamalika swaras were played with various pairs like kedaram, kapi etc.

Also presented were Maravairi (Nasikabhushani), 2 tillanas (Hindolavasantam & Sindubhairavi?)
