What is the song the Nadhaswaram artists are playing right at the top? It sounded like Huseni but I did not have time to listen to it again.

During the group singing, we hear only a few voices prominently and the rest of the group is heard only faintly. At the beginning of the second song, when the show all the artists, I see some mics setup in front of some artists. Sometimes three mics, other times two, a few people get one and others get none. This is all in the front row. It is hard for me to get a depth perception to know if those mics are really close to those artists or they are positioned to pick up all the artists voices that are in the neighborhood. Is the total sound we are hearing pretty much dominated by the artists close to those mics or there are other mics we do not see? I had been to the Aradhana a long time back but I do not recall those details.

In spite of our cynicism about the Aradhana in another thread, it is still quite riveting to watch this. It is quite good that Podigai showed an hour and a half of the Aradhana.

The archives of music criticism that Pasupathy kindly brought to light sort of has a clue to another question, I noticed. The question was: when did the flautists start playing chEtulAra before the singing of pancha ratnAs? I don't know what the answer is, but they also player nEnendu vetukudurA along with chEtulAra, according to this report
