Cleveland 2013

Post by gnb »

Hi Rasikas
My dear friend told me that the Cleveland schedule is out, just like the matriculation results appear on news papers way back in olden times. All the artists have to go through the web site to see if they have been featured! Any ways, I just browsed through the schedule. The surprising thing is there is no surprise. Artists from NA who wield power have made sure they get good attention. One percussion player is playing in three concerts in one single day! He is of course part of the Aradhana Committee. The other surprise seems to be the fact that Thygaraja has to endure "jazz music" as a part of devotion to him. I don't know if it is another money making scam exploiting the gullible NA artists. May be next year there will be a "country music and Thygaraja" and "rap music as visualized by Thyagaraja".
Be that as it may. Is some one web casting the events since I will be away in Singapore at that time? I would be keen to see all the good things and the tamasha.

Welcome back, Professor - we missed your odious rants about the Cleveland Festival. I'm glad to know that while your handle changes, your personality does not.

Nothing offensive has been said or meant. It is upto the readers to believe what they want to. I must still make some observations. One thing that concerns me, as it did last year, is the clubbing of individual singing and "mini" concerts on the same day. While these "mini" concerts attract huge crowds, the attendance in individual singing was limited to the announcers and the kids' parents. I believe individual singing is germane to the festival and that is the starting point for most kids before they go onto participate in various competitions. Many of them drive long distances too. One suggestion is to alternate individual singing and "mini" concerts in the same hall. Just a thought.

The phrase "I don't know if it is another money making scam exploiting the gullible NA artists." is patently offensive. If you didn't mean it to be offensive, I highly recommend a course in remedial English to help with your choice of words.

I can go on and try to argue the merits of your post, but I will not. Firstly, because there is no merit to any of your points. Secondly (and more importantly), I refuse to engage in a battle of wits with an unarmed man. The unfortunate combined symptoms of your mental constipation and verbal diarrhea are stinking up the entire board.

So let me instead give a bit of unsolicited advice:

Stop it all. Get off the forums. Not just this handle, but all the personalities you have created - you may think that they are quite unique, but your writing and location are quite transparently the same. Get help. Get professional help and get it quickly. These acts of creating multiple ids to post fictional anecdotes about nonexistent problems are signs of a deeply disturbed and diseased mind. I can recommend some mental health experts in the Great Lakes area if it would help.

We do not want any web wars for pro or against at this Forum.
You can carry on those discussions through personal mail.
I will be forced to lock this thread if you persist on verbal duels using unpleasant language.

Any suggestions you have for Cleveland organizers can be directly conveyed to them through email.

Do please cooperate...

@cmlover - This is really turning into a game of Whack-A-Mole. If you shut down this thread, he will simply start a new thread with another persona. The best we can do is pray that he gets the help he so desperately needs.

Since genuine expressions of feelings are misconstrued and more heat than light is generated, I request that this thread be taken out. If time permits, I shall convey my feelings directly to the authorities concerned. In fact I don't even plan to attend the Aradhana this year. May God bless all.

Wise move, Professor. Just remember that I enjoy playing Whack-A-Mole, so I keep my hammer handy. Keep your nose clean, buddy...
