While it is considered as another form of chenchuruti, there is also a mention that it is considered as Ashraya Raga of kaamaj that..which is equivalent to Hari khambhoji

can this be explained....as I am not clear...

The raga name chenchuruTi is Tamilised version of JhanjhuTi in Samskritam - refer to MD's Gajamba Nayako , wherein " sujhanjhuTi raaga baano " is the raga mudra. This is janya of Harikambhoji 28 mela karta raga. In hindustani music, it must be jhinjhoTi. MD has atleast three compositions in this raga.

How does Jujavanti fit here ? BTW, jujavanti is called Jayjaywanti in Hindustani music and also called Dwijavanti in CM. Akhilandeswari is another of MD's songs in this raga.

I have a hard time understanding this raga and madhyama sruti.

If singing the raga in madhyama sruti, does that mean the "ma" of our regular scale, becomes our new "Sa" and the arohanam avorahanam is relative to that new "sa" ?
