Another action-packed concert by Abhishek Raghuram. The concert was filled with his his electrifying kalpana svara full of imaginative kannaku and porutam. The detailed tODi suite lasted for around 90 minutes, with the alapana being broken up into two segments. His neraval and svara around the line mAl maruga was very refreshing. There wasn't time for a RTP since the concert was on a Sunday evening.

Superb support by senior artistes Sri Vittal Ramamurthy and Sri Neyveli Narayanan. In typical UKS style - the tani took off from where Abhishek left and was also electric. After a quick Oceania tour these musicians are now on a flight back to India!

Mohan,
It was a 3 hour concert , but with his evergreen todi he went on and on. That must have been a great treat . No time for a rtp . Do you have a hard stop at 9pm , you cant extend.

Rajesh - yes the thodi was long. The hard core listeners loved it while others found it a little too long and took it as a chance for a snack or restroom break!
Before the concert, we suggested he finished sometime between 9 and 9.30pm. I guess he adopted the strategy to conclude when the audience was wanting more!

Shouldn't the tODi masterpiece of Sri Sivan be kArtikEya gAngEya gauri tanayA - to succintly describe the various 'mothers' of muruga - gangA, the kRtika maidens, and finally, gauri?
