Dear Rasikas,

It gives us a great pleasure in inviting you all for the 10th year celebration of the Dubai Music Lovers (DML) annual musical event "TRIBUTE TO TRINITY". Rasikas are aware that each year DML has been bringing in various artistes & experts in music from India who display their talent with some amazing musical performances.

This year being the 10th year since inception, Dubai Music Lovers is organising a two day programme in Dubai & Abu Dhabi - a" Violin Concert" by the Mysore brothers Mysore Sri Nagaraj & Mysore Sri Manjunath accompanied by the legendary "Padma Vibhushan" Umayalpuram Sri K Sivaraman on Mridangam and Sri Giridhar Udupa on the Ghatam.

In Dubai it is scheduled on April 12 2013 (Friday) under the patronage of the Consulate General of India in association with the Indian Community Welfare Committee (ICWC), supported by Dubai Music Lovers (DML) and Indian Fine Arts (IFA). Venue: Emirates English Speaking School, near Al Safa Park, Dubai at 7:00 pm

In Abu Dhabi it is scheduled on April 13 2013 (Saturday) under the patronage of the Embassy of India, Cultural Wing, Abu Dhabi in association with Dubai Music Lovers (DML). Venue: Indian Embassy Auditorium, Abu Dhabi at 7:00 pm.

About DML:

Dubai Music Lovers – DML is the brain child of Mrudangam Vidwan Sri D.Govindaran. Moving to the UAE a decade ago, Sri Govindarajan, with some of his likeminded music loving friends started DML in the year 2003. DML had organized Trinity Festival in February 2004 and the activities of the organization intensified year by year along with the active participation of the veterans and young stars of Carnatic Music. DML also organizes mike less chamber concerts every month, aganda ganam on auspicious occasions like Maha Sivarathri and Vaikunda Ekadhasi which receives tremendous participation by rasikas, students and artistes.

DML feels that nurturing the talents of younger generation is the collective responsibility of parents, institutions and the society as well. To see this happen, DML periodically organizes competitions for students in various aspects of music and laya. The founder strongly believes that singing krithis or accompanying music without learning the basics is like trying to build Burj Khalifa without a strong foundation. Sri Govindarajan has been spending a lot of time in identifying and encouraging the potentials of the children and he had presented a special program on importance of basics which was well received too. The students of Dubai are fortunate enough to have some of the finest teachers and DML has honoured them, giving due recognition to their yeomen service in the field of Carnatic Music. Sri Govindarajan, being a percussionist himself imparts his knowledge and experience in the field of music over 45 years to many students and already some of them have become good performers in the Gulf and abroad.

In continuation to the services offering the society, DML observes remembrance days, birthdays and centenary celebrations of great masters and vaggeyakaras of yester years. DML conducts “Sangeethotsavam”, a music festival in the month of December every year, coinciding with the much coveted Isai Vizha of Chennai.

By the grace of almighty and with the support of music lovers and artistes around the globe, Trinity Festival to be celebrated on 12th April and 13th April this year is the 10th year in succession.
