Munirao Sir, I heard the second half of your esteemed father's concert. It was nice. I did not have occasion to listen to his concerts earlier. That day Thyagrarajam bhajare in Yadulakambodi was new to me. Very elaborate alapana and swarams. It was very good. Then RTP Kalyani and slokam all were good.

tyAgarAjam bhajarE, hardly heard these days, is one of my most favorite songs. Every phrase, sangathi in that song is incredible. MD wove it in a way that is like a piece of beautiful tapestry to me.

Thanks for listening and the feed back. First composition of the concert was 'Tere teeyaga rada'-Gowlipanthu-Adi-Thyagaraja. The second composition was 'Nee Bhajana gana rasikula'-Nayaki-Adi-Thyagaraja.
After learning from TLV Iyyer and on request from Appaji(Tiger Varadachari, SSRao sang the composition. Tiger immensely liking and inspired, took up the composition'Thyagarajam Bhaje' in his Mysore Durbar concert. SSRao's singing in this concert was a true representation of his Guru's rich yadukulakambodi and the neraval.

Arasi,
I have recorded the concert in audio cassette. After copying it in CD, I shall try to put it on the link for the benefit of all the rasikas, who missed this rare recording of AIR-Central Archieve, New Delhi, recorded and broadcast first in the year, 1958.
I came to know that AIR is considering to release commercial CD, as a part of Great Maestros series, soon.
