It is a janya of mELA 27 (sarasAngi) with S R M D N S / S N D M R S as it's notes.

Lji - didn't the Late Pandit Ravi Shankar create a rAg priyadarSini to honor Smt. Indira Gandhi? Is that the same as this one?

It was Amjad Ali Khan who made that raga...
And that raga a distinct gandhara to it. so it is not the same.

Saketharaman worked it into his RTP ragamalika swaras at the Music Academy.

The link does not work.

Sanjay sang a rAgamAlikA RTP at Shanmukananda Sabha a few years ago with Priyadarshini woven into it and Balaji had put it up in the Mumbai concerts thread. Varadu on the violin. I think it's also available on youtube.

Sudha Ragunathan sings Guru Surajananda's Rukminipate in this raga and have also heard her sing this part of ragamalika swaram for a RTP.
