Re: Checking the pitch...
Is it bouncy or spin-friendly?
(btw, right click and select 'show image in a new tab' to see the full picture since the forum software has issues with showing high res/big pictures )

The thread title takes away the punchline!
Could it be changed?

Re: Pitch
Changed it to just 'Pitch' for now. If there are complaints, I will change it...

Re: Pitch
At the heart of the cartoon lies a pun on the word 'pitch', applied over its differing meanings in cricket and music. So the title STILL takes away the surprise in the punchline. But I guess most of the members would've seen this by now anyway. Doesn't matter.

I like that line, VKailasam
"pEchu mUChu!"--should be your next line

Re: acchu pitchu.
vk..
why do you want the change? what srikanth suggested is that it has to be more appropriate to the cartoon..does your change relate to the cartoon...??
I chose the word as indicated in the reply made by a rasika in the cartoon.. He says the umpire is checking the 'pitch' of the singer..
I consider it more appropriate...leave it as it was..Do not try to strangulate the fun in the cartoon..It has already lost the luster of it ..
by suggesting most inappropriate things...

Not certainly the other way around
Vkailasm:
I agree, the humour is moving away from what you intended!

You mean, mUchO (too much) pEchu on VKailasam's artistic expression? That's exactly what I meant by pEchu mUchu (in hundred percent tamizh)--which means--hush! No more talk on this

Re: pitch
arasi...
It is not that way....
" What's in a name?"
The naming has to have some relevance ..to My posting of the 'pitch'
It is not something 'achupitchu"
It had an inherent Pun in that...
Now the posting of 'Naming the kitten' is exactly as to what had happened to the thread....
so many suggestions culminating in the initial name ...just like the kitten...kitten was finally named as the kitten..

Re: pitch
VKailasam,
Let me make it clear to you about the intent of my posts.
I felt that you had the right to name your threads the way you wanted to. That's why I spoke of 'artistic expression' in my first post. I felt it was your choice.
You changed the title. I did not ask why you did it. I wondered if there was a need for it.
With the lines about naming the cat, I went just with the feelings of the child--the way she would have loved the cat and would have wanted to choose the best name for it. Since that was my premise, I went along with my feelings for the child--her going through names to search for the best. So, the name really was not important in that context--it was her love for it which was key in my saying: what's in a name?
Seems as though my blabbering went too far--so far, that it had nothing to do with the original discussion.
Apologies, VKailasam, if I sounded insensitive. You do know how much I appreciate your contributions on youtube and also your writings. I don't acknowledge them often, that's all
Back to young ones, Appreciate your grand daughter for helping you with the video.
If the cat were black, the name Pitch would have been suitable
Mon ami,
Don't say I am getting 'high-pitched' about it

btw, all the title changes were by me. First because Srikant opined that the title was giving away the punchline. Then frivolity ensued with other suggestions for title changes
