Badari,
Who is the Bangalore boy that you refer too in your blog. I am a little confused. Were the artist late or the sound guy late. And yes you are absolutely right, If the audience can make it on time, why not the artist.
Why do our artists take the audience for granted?

Badari: Thanks for the info about the concert and the photo. The stage looks quite nice, colorful and compact.
So, I take it that there was no violin accompaniment? How different did that sound in the CM sense, for good, bad or neutral?
BTW, I know you were disappointed about the late start of the concert and I will be too (it happened very recently) but unless the artists are known to be habitually late, I will have to give the benefit of doubt to them. My concern will be more of that stress affecting their performance. That is much worse. How did they fare in that regard?

Appu,
Shashank is the Bengaluru boy.
Badari,
Thank you for bringing Bengaluru concerts and pictures to us on a regular basis!
VK,
Yes, there are unavoidable delays--yet, how is it that some performers can make it on time for every concert? Yes, traffic delays are a problem, but the ones who are there on time make an even earlier start than the ones who arrive in a huff and a puff. A delay because of a train or plane to the city, we can understand, but to leave for the concert from where they are staying has to be timed well, allowing plenty of time for road delays. We do not hear of artistes missing a concert because they missed a train at Chennai because they were late in arriving at the station!
Let's say, there were a few hundred folks in the hall. Each one of them, if they wanted to hear the whole concert, was inconvenienced. Those who didn't arrive in their own two or four wheelers, had to worry about public transportation and autocratic auto drivers at that hour when the concert ended...
Was there a mike-testing prelude too to the concert to make it worse?!

This is to clarify on the baseless comment made in reference to the "Bangalore Boy". I was one of the few volunteers that was in the green room with Shashank and I can only tell you that Maestro Shashank was in well ahead of time and even heard a part of the violin concert that preceded the jugalbandhi concert.
The other three musicians got delayed, I believe, due to a victory lap that was taken in the area by a congress candidate who won in the recently held elections and therefore due the late arrival of the other musicians, the concert got off to a late start.
The writer of the blog could have clarified this rather than posting inaccurate facts.

I would have appreciated.. if the concert went on till 9.30 as scheduled than winding up at 9.15 ( delayed start and early ending) would certainly leave any rasika... wanting for more.
