Chitravina - Ganesh Parthasarathy
Violin - HN Bhaskar
Mridangam - Tanjore Murugabhoopathy

A spell-binding concert by all 3 artistes. Keeping in mind the mix of some knowledgeable and some 'wandered in' rasikas, they gave a veritable treat to the ear.

1) Valachi - Navaragamalika Varnam
2) Sriman Narayana -Bowli Annamaya (KS)
3) Ka Va Va - Varali (R KS)
4)Muruga Muruga - Saveri PS Thooran (R KS)
5) Banturithi Hamsanadam (KS)
6) Kaligiyunte - Kiravani (R KS Thani)
7) Chinnan chiru kiliye
8) Lalgudi Thillana in Desh
9) Note on request

Each piece was a gem but KS in Banturithi, saveri alapana and kiravani were just superb. Chinnan chiru just melted the heart. He is definitely an artiste I will seek out every year on my annual jaunts to the Mother country

thanks, MV. It has been a while since I've heard a solo chitraveena performance by Ganesh, since he is so busy also with his singing career! HNB is one of my favourite violinists. He has such a solid supportive presence on stage. Nice to see him accompany different people @ this festival.

Look forward to hearing more about the rest of the festivities in NZ!

It would have been a treat to hear saveri in chitraveena!
HN Bhaskar is certainly a solid support and his ragam and taanams are unusually sweet and appealing.
