Vittal Rangan B. Violin 100.1 FM Blr AIR

I heard a young violinist B. Vittala Rangan, a student of Vid. Kanyakumari y'day. It was a live broadcast at 8:30 AM and he played extremely well. The items included Gambhira Nata-Sri Jalandhara, Ardhanareeshwaram - Kumudakriya, Pakkala nilabadi-KHP, Nanake badavanu-Behag and LGJ Rageshri tillana.
The manodharma, violin technique and song presentation was of a very high order. Unfortunately I did not record the broadcast.

Did anybody listen, too? Any luck that someone recorded the broadcast?

I've never had to look elsewhere!

I listened to the concert too. Only the second half though, on my way to work.

Vittal Rangan is quietly making his mark and is growing in stature. He is already in the concert platform and has provided accompaniment to prominent artists, Vidushi Neela Ramgopal being one among them. He has a bright future ahead.

One day previous to that, Amrutavarshini broadcast a half hour concert by another young violinist, Pradeshachar. Very impressive.

I heard him play for Sumitra Nitin last year and liked his playing very much.
