Is it Ahir Bhairavi or Chakravaham?

Well, the song sounds haunting, touching, deep, beautiful and timeless no matter whether it is Ahir Bhairav or Chakravakam ( or Tōyavēgavāhini according to the MD tradition - GajAnanayutham - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w89uo3HmXA8 ).
Though Ahir Bhairav and Chakravakam are usually characterized as equivalent ragas in HM and CM, that is only true if you look at the notional swarasthanas. The gamakas are different enough that they sound very different and hence different raga identities. The difference in such ornamentation of the notes is one of the standard difference in gamakam between CM and HM. In CM, the oscillation starts at the lower note, whereas in HM, it starts at the higher note. That changes the aesthetics significantly, thus creating two beautiful things out of the same notional arohana/avarohana.
So, by that aesthetic characterization, uLLathil nalla uLLam is Ahir Bhairav and not Chakravakam.
True?

Sri GS Mani gives this one and 'deivattin tEreDuttu dEviyai tEDu' from pATTum bharatamum as two examples of cakravAkam in movie songs.
