My day in Chennai was very fruitful listening to Vid TVG on Saturday 10th Aug 2013. It was a good and neat concert.

TVG was very energetic and clear in his approach towards the aestheticism of our music. Though all the items had ragam and swaram one could not get bored at all. He made each item of the concert very very interesting and soulful. His ganamurthi ragam had a special touch of emotion.
S.Varadarajan's each and every reply had a "BHALE" "SABHASH" what else is needed from a Guru to a Shishya. Patri Satishkumar was at par excellence looked like TVG was dam impressed, Radhakrishnan responses was too good. Pavandeep , his voice had weight and clarity ( hope to see him on more platforms).
Totally was very satisfying and a wholesome concert of nostalgic and everlasting value.

TVG is very appreciative of his accompanists, which is always nice to see.

What a day Saturday was! At least three senior vocalists were performing. I had to choose Smt. R. Vedavalli's concert, otherwise I would have been with you and TVG.

TVG is always enthusiastic.In a marriage concert in 1993 the couple requested him to sing "alaipAyudhE" in kAnadA.He told he doesn't know this song and they requested for "idhuthAnO thillaisthalam" in behAg.The couple didn't know that it was already sung.But TVG again sang it for the newly married with more enthusiasm.Incidentally today morning I saw & heard an old recording of his tani in DD national.must be at least 2 decades old.

I am too ignorant.

I was thinking: when other rasikas of the .org kind are not there, I should get hold of Sumathi or Sumithra and ask for same for the befit both of learning and others. Yes, if I am in town, fit, and it is not a close relative's birthday or wedding anniversary (Why on earth did I get married in December! ) I seldom miss her concerts.
