May his soul RIP! He was the soul of the edifice Smt. Samjukta built on the stage!

Remembrances and prayers. Odissi is one of the most poetically expressive and elevating dance forms I have ever seen. Pt. Raghunath Pnigrahi joins the other two - Sanjukta and Kelucharan in the other world, since even gods would not have seen such dance before.

I have been lucky to witness the wonderful programmes of Samjukta & Panigrahi at the Sri Swati Tirunal sangita Sabha, Trivandrum quite a few times during the seventies and eighties. The danseuse was at the peak of her career then!

Rendering of ashtapadi-s by Panigrahi in his sonorous voice to the accompaniment of Pakhwaj had a charm of its own. And unparalleled!
