report on artists performance

Post by hnbhagavan »

Dear Sri MKR,Sri Sachi and friends,

I wish to bring to your notice that performances by some artists pass unnoticed. Especially, the recent efforts of Lalgudi siblings to remember and pay tributes to Sri Lalgudi sir at various locations.Apart from Bangalore and Coimbatore, there were book release of functions of the AN INCURABLE ROMANTIC at other locations including LONDON and WASHINGTON.
Violin duet performances at Mysore in the KK Putturao memorial program ana at Kennedy Centre,Washington have taken place in the recent past.

Dear hnbhagavan: You raised a valid point--FYI the Siblings are preforming in NJ on this coming Saturday with the Book release. I will be attending it and I hope to report on it. Also I am trying to find out how the Washington D.C. event went.

Both GJR and Viji are handling their monumental loss with exemplary grace and stoicsm and would be pleased with wellwishers in the Forum. I had mentioned to Viji recently about the thread in the forum.

Sri Bhagwan. I am aware of their tour of N. America. I wish them much success on this memorial tour.

MKR: Look forward to your report!

From what I could glean from their website, Lalgudi GJR & Viji are performing with Anantha R. Krishnan (Palghat Raghu's grandson) at Rutgers (NJ) and later at MIT (Cambridge, MA) this week. Amazing combination! I would encourage forumites in those areas to attend.

It appears that GJR is on the west coast and promoting the book at a few other locations like San Diego. Lalgudi Viji is giving a rare vocal concert in Texas. Sadly (for me) there are no performances in the SF bay area :(

Dear Sri MKR,

Thank you for your reply. The Lalgudi siblings conduct themselves in exemplary manner.I did attend the book release function in Bangalore Gayana Samaja.
The concert also was nice.NATAKURANJI- Manasu Vishaya was the highlight.I made a brief report under Lalgudi Siblings.
Among the Insrtumental stalwarts of today, there are no noisy and jerky movements in their style of play.

The audio level is generally kept at a pleasant level very much reminiscent of Lalgudi and Bramhanandam's approach.
