Yes this is section of kishkindhakand from Goswami Tulsidasji's Ramacaritamanasa. A conversation between Lord Rama and Shri Lakshmana - Sri Rama describes the rainy season to his younger brother by giving practical examples.
ghana ghamanDa nabha garjata ghorA, priyA hIna Darapata mana morA
The aggresive(ghamanDa) clouds (ghana) in the skies (nabha) make deep (ghorA) thundering sounds (garjata) and without (hIna) my beloved (priyA), my (morA) heart (mana) is overwhelmed with fear (darapata) [Lord rAma is worried about the situation in which his beloved motehr sItA would be in during this fearsome season of thunder and rain]
dAmini damaka na raha ghana mAhI, khala ke prIti jathA thir nAhI
The shine (damaka) of the lightening (dAmini) does not remain stable (na raha) within the (mAhI) clouds (ghana) just like (jathA) a scoundrel's (khala) love (prIti) is absolutely unstable (thir nAhI). [Here the momentous appearance of the lighetning in the clouds is compared to the momentous love of the crooked persons, which only appears momentarily to accomplish their own tasks]
barasahi jalada bhUmi niyarAye, jathA navahi budha vidyA pAye
The clouds (jalada) begin to drop down in teh form of rain (barasahi) as they approach nearer (niyarAye) the earthly ground (bhUmi), just like (jathA) the real wise (budha) humble down (navahi) as they get (pAye) knowledge (vidyA). [the scriptures say vidyA dAdAti vinayam - knowledge bestows humility, the lord is giving an example, as the clouds get nearer to the earth, they humble down, melt away and drop down, in a similar manner as the wise receive knowledge, they also humble down]
bUnda aghAta sahahi giri aise, khal ke vacana sanata saha jaise
The mountainous rocks (giri) queitly tolerate (sahahi) the large drops of rain (bUnda) on themselves, just as (jaise) the saintly beings (santa) tolerate (saha) the harsh words (vacana) of the rogues (khal).
cchudra nadI bhari chalI torAI, jasa thorehu dhana khala itarAi
As the smallest of rivers (chhudra nadI) get fileld with water (bhari), they try to break their boundaries and flow beyond capacity (chali torAI),, like (jasa) the unfair rogues (khala) begin to boast (itarAI) on receiving the least amount (thorehu) of money (dhana). [when the unfair get the least amount of money, they begin to boast and show off out of their capacity, in the same way the rivers, on receiving the smallest amount of water, begin to flow out of thei capacity]
bhUmi padata bhA DHAbara pAni, janu jIvahi mAyA lapaTAnI
The pure water (pAnI) becomes impure and dirty (DHAbara) as soon as it drops (padata) on the ground (bhUmi), just like (janu) the Lord's illusion (mAyA) enraptures (lapaTAnI) the embodied soul (jIvahi). [This is one of my most favorites. When the water drops from the clouds, it is in the purest state until it touches the ground after which it becomes filled up with other impurities. In a similar way, as long as the individual (soul) is not born, he is in the purest form as he is part and parcel of the supreme soul, but as soon as he is born, illusion begins to capture him and layer him with all the impurities of the world]
samiTi samiTi jala bharahI talAvA, jimi sadaguna sajjana pahi AvA
The waters (jala) group up (samiTi samiTi) and fill up (bharahi) the ponds (talAvA), just like (jimi) good qualities (sadaguna) automatically come to (AvA) to the good people (sajjana). [If one wants to adopt good qualities, they automatically come to him, and if one wants to remain with bad habits, he will always find excuses, this is what the Lord is indicating here].
saritA jala jalanidhi mahu jAI, hohi acala jimi jiva hari pAI
