9) akhilAndEshwari - jujAvanti - Adi - muthuswAmi dIkshitar

10) sOmasundarEswaram - suddhavasantA - Adi - muthuswAmi dIkshitar

11) lalitA paramEswari - suruTTi - Adi - muthuswAmi dIkshitar

Every aspect of this concert was good, be it the raga alapanas, song renditions or the percussive support. Shankarabharanam alapana was beautifully executed by both the vocalist and the violinist. Sri Arun Prakash and Sri Purushottam played a very short and simple taniavartanam in misra chApu talam. Smt. Sugandha Kalamegam treated listeners with two songs in suruTTi, one of my favorite ragas.

ha ha...very funny...(rolls eyes)...and ironic, especially considering this was one of the concerts that I wasn't going to touch on. Why? Because the only unusual element of it is the last item, which I've never seen on a list or heard before (I don't think).

venkat,
Just when you were thinking that ramakriya had stolen your daily dose of laughter--in order to provide it, he stole you know who's seal of approval!

venkatpv, arasi,

Do you really want me to prove that it is a nice list ? :)

Seriously, although none of the following kritis belong to the 'extremely rare' category, having all these in a single concert, is kind of rare, I think.

I'm not sure I can agree on 3 and 6, and perhaps 4, but otherwise, I can see where you're coming from.
