The Biennial, week long festival will take place in November. Indian music will feature a "visual" concept designed by Rohan. I hope to write about the event later.

Sounds like a an interesting idea. Ms. Malini Srinivasan is a New York-based bharatanAtyam artist - Umesh (a fellow forumite) is a part of her troop.

Ravi,
Good to know this! Malini Srinivasan is Chandrashekar's student and both her mother and grandmother taught dance. She is a special niece (my second cousin's daughter). I have seen her do both the traditional and modern, and am impressed by her creativity.
She usually sends me invites. One is on its way, I guess...
All the best to the festival and to the young artistes!

Nice to know that, If you are around the area please do come. I am inviting you. Rohan works on an advisory capacity for the Michigan Festival and tries to promote Indian music. He has arranged a number of events in the past with Chennai musicians that produced mixed experience. He has worked with Malini in the past in New York and felt she should be invited this year. Then he designed the program that will showcase her as well as others in the team. I am looking forward to it as much as many people here are!arasi wrote:Ravi,
