O Kamakshi! Protect us. You are the one saluted by Lord Brahma, you are the leader of the beautiful flourishing kingdom, you reside at the city of lotuses, you are the very form of everything, you are the basis of this world. O! Kamala O! the pure one, O! the one with a more beautiful face than that of a lotus flower and the moon, O! the immeasurable one, O! the one saluted by Indra's wife, Sarasvati and Gauri and O! the happy one, O! the lotus eyed one, O! Kamakshi, O! the consort of Kameshvara, O! the auspicious one, please protect us.

Meaning for pAhi durgE:
O! Durga please protect this devotee of yours. You are the one with a lotus in your hand, you are the victorious mind power, come and bless me. O! one who knows all, mother of Ganapati and Guruguha who are saluted by sages.

I take refuge (at the feet of) of Somaskanda, who is himself the form of bliss, the lord of Kamakshi, who has an auspicious attire and who is beautiful to look at. The one who is holding Ganga (in his matted locks), who is accompanied by Gauri, who has a beautifully decorated form, who is attractive like the moon, who is the very form of Guruguha - at the feet of such Skanda I take refuge.
