Attended about 4 concerts in the last one week all during the second half, as it was working day. I will post just one of the four and the rest if i have time little later or may be end of season. All these concerts start at 7 pm.

Dr narmadha must be opening a new chapter in her life , it is certainly a first season since her super extraordinary appA shri MSG expired in Jan-2013.
As I entered, I could notice her wrapping for few minutes the alapana of simmhendra madhyamam. She announced all krithis and when she began asaindhadum mayilonru ,one could aurally spot a touch of msg where the glides are bit in the faster side nevertheless certainly enjoyable . There was a feel she could have gone bit more with her swaras but it did not happen .
The kamas with a soothing alapana was lovely and her krithi brochEvA had a nice sowkhyam.The dandapani desigar and kavadi chindu were bit touch and go affair , I am not a fan of these folk senjurutti especially kavadi chindu (excepting when musiri sings it) . But she showed her class in the emotive kandanaal mudhalai -madhuvanti and chaliyE kunjanu - brindavana saranga.I was surprised to hear the last lalgudi school theeratha vilayattu pillai , does MSG play that , some one who follows MSG can notify us.
On a side note in the last few occassions i have noticed the nadham of dr narmada was bit too much of press , but in this concert i could hear her where she is more like her father especially when she played brindavana saranga ,maduvanti and khamas. Keep it up Dr Narmadha.
The percussion sum was slightly on the loud side , loud not to complain that much in the hall but atleast to tell that in the forum :p . The ghatam artist has lovely azhuttam but he was most loud . CCA is a big sabha i mitigated by sitting almost 10 rows from the end . I am not recollecting now about the tani.
May i know little bit more about the mrudangam school of tillaistanam suryanarayanan and also the songlist prior to simmhendra madhyamam ??
Overall a very good to excellent concert.
