Re: Dr. VS in MFAC -- in progress
The violinist was Sanjeev and he did a very good job!
My first concert of the season, and VS gave a lively performance. From the very beginning, the auspicious siddhi vinAyakam in mOhan kalyANi, the concert made an impression. SObillu followed jauntingly. Hecherigega rA rA gave a change in pace, followed by SambhO mahAdEva in panthuvarALi which was very appealing.
A good SankarAbharaNam followed, with the main akshaya linga vibhO.
The young percussionists did a good job--haven't heard them before (the program says, Delhi Sairam and Harihara Sarma. The violinist it says is Murari, but I saw Sanjeev on stage, unless I'm mistaken!

Re: Dr. VS in MFAC -- in progress
Attn:Arasi-- the violinist was not Sri.sanjeev for Dr.VS concert yesterday (15dec) @ MFAC. It was myself V V S Murari. Just because there is similarity in the looks between myself & Sanjeev does not mean it has to be construed the wrong way. I urge that the members of this group know what they write & not have incorrect information published. It is neither good for the viewers/readers & not good for the artistes! Thank you.

Sri VVS Murari, it is indeed our good fortune that Arasi made a mistake in identifying you, because it has caused you to join in. We look forward to hearing more from you!!

Yes. By the way in the BSU concert, VVSM's violin sounded VERY rich. It was a fine duet.

Re: Dr. VS in MFAC -- in progress
I spend my time speeding from venue to venue to listen to music, as my brain cells make an exit faster as years go by, and I've missed all the ado until the end of the day!
Golly!
VVMurari,
Apologies, and welcome to the forum.
Just a few hours ago, I was telling VVS (not your father but the one from Cleveland) 'what a big mouth am I', and you have brought proof of it to the forum
By the way, the violin accompaniment to VS's concert was very good yesterday--even though I named the wrong one...

Shambho Mahadeva swarams were very brisk alternating between Shambo &Mahadeva..Kanakangi of Kotiswara Iyer was replete with scholarly &breezy swaras again. Janani Ninuvina unique sangathi 'vinavenamanavini...." nice to listen again(post Isai charal) ....Noticed a lot of azutham in presentation.... In Akshayalingavibho she gave a lot of emphasis on sahithya with Sankarabharanam well on the background( sankarabharanathai pizhiniju eduthu-To quote her guru Sri S. Rajam ).The time slot @ 4 Pm was bit odd to get more rasikas in attendence. I understand she had planned a RTP ..However, one could witness all her nos were treated with applause !

Post the main song and tani , Dr. VS sang a verse on Muruga in Ragamalika , followed by a composition in Desh - Yaavum Un Mayam , written by Anayampatti Sri. Adi Seshayyer , and set to tune by Smt. Indra Ganesan , wife of Anayampatti Sri. Ganesan .

Re: Dr. VS at MFAC
It would help if we stop using abbreviations and wrote the full name instead. Not much effort, IMHO.

Re: Dr. VS at MFAC
@prahlad_rag --- isn't it interesting to guess the right full forms, when we use abbreviations ?
... most / all shortforms get expanded in the course of a post and its replies , so i find it quite alright to use initials , especially when sharing live updates from a concert
