Grand Veena Recital by
Vidushi Bhagyalakshmi Chandrasekaran - Veena
Vidwan Anoor Ananthakrishna Sharma - Mridangam
Vidwan M. Gururaj - Morsing
ALL ARE WELCOME
Smt. Bhagyalakshmi Chandrasekaran comes in the lineage of renowned carnatic musicians and is the grand daughter of Sangeetha Kalanidhi Sri Mudikondan C.Venkatarama Iyer. Smt. Bhagyalakshmi is today one of the foremost exponents in the instrument. She has travelled all over India and abroad on concert tours. She is famous for providing pure undiluted classicism in her concerts while making the listening experience a pleasure due to her variety and virtuosity. Having trained in the instrument from the age of 12, she believes that one should learn the veena for at least 10 years and it is not like “fast food”!
The 20th Annual Festival of Music of Nadasurabhi was a grand success with thousands of people enjoying the music in the hall with excellent acoustics and ambience., during the weeklong event. Nadasurabhi wishes to thank the artists, sponsors, donors, members, well wishers and members of the rasika fraternity for making the event a memorable one.
Nadasurabhi is also pleased to inform that the registrations for the Pancharatna Course that is being held under Guru Smt. Neela Ramgopal was spontaneous and overwhelming. The registrations have since been closed as all seats have been filled up. Please await announcements of future courses on similar high level carnatic music subjects.

Yes. Very true. Only reason that I can think of is that she has never lived in Chennai, the capital of CM !!
Yes. Looking forward to the programme.

Yes, I agree with Braindrain. Thanam and the smooth transition from ragam to ragam in that section was something delightful.
Also, during thukkadas, we could hear the sahitya itself (if you know the particular song) being sung by the veena.
I felt that there were too many thukkadas- around 40 minutes. One Main could have easily been accommodated before RTP.
Overall, It was indeed a memorable experience.

Steadily, but surely there appears to be a fan club developing for BC !
Rich imagination and melodic execution.....needs courage to successfully pull off a concert with this kind of song selection...she did. Special mention of Shivu and Gururaj for a soft accomapniment...also, was glad to see a full hall
