That is a very nice article.
Whilst it is not particularly technical, I learned one thing: I had always taken for granted that, although blind, a person might find the finger positions for the left hand, but, stupidly, I have never thought about the movement of the bow.

I wish to share a few of my experiences with M.Chandrasekharan. He had some VERY UNIQUE ABILITIES LIKE: If you give him the day & year instantly he can tell what day of ther week it is! His TALENTS in many areas was just PHENOMENAL!
I consider his VOCAL CONCERT OF his guru T.Jayammal's PADAMS in Cleveland a few years back one of the best concerts I have heard. Many may recall that he & TK Murthy PROPELLED the career of the inexperienced TVS in 1975 to that of a leading vidwan by playing in 46 concerts in 25 days! In one instance they started in Baltimore, then Washington, on to Boston, and ending up with a close to 4 hour concert in NYC ALL IN ONE DAY!
Actually the OUTSTANDING CONCERTS OF CARNATIC MUSIC started with the M.S. UN CONCERT (SANKARABHARANAM)1966, FOLLOWED BY LGJ-RAMANI-RAGHAVAN- TS WITH THE BEST CHAKKANI RAJA I HAVE HEARD1971NYC &THE BEST NALINAKANTHI MANAMVYALA WAS BY TVS-MC-TKM I HAVE HEARD 1975......
We owe him a lot of thanks for not only FOR ELEVATING the concerts of Mali, Somu, KVN BUT PRACTICALLY ANY ONE HE ACCOMPANIED......It is a pity that the valiant efforts of Toronto Venkataraman, Cleveland V.V.Sundaram and to some extent myself did not help in improving his eyesight but in my opinion he only EXCELLED in spite of his poor eyesight. VKV :ymapplause:

It is quite a revelation to me. Yesterday, I was watching a violinist, seeing the line of the bow and its length, and wondering, "How would a blind person do that?"
