A review of this lec-dem can be found here:

Sankaran sir was at his vibrant best while accompanying the evergreen number - Padavini... His accompaniment for Anandabhairavi was soothing. Both versions are textbooks for learners - how to accompany for a soft and brisk Kriti.
The tani was consice and limited. One korvai that he played in Khanda Nadai - I am hearing it from him for the first time.
Also, the maestro turned nostalgic when a rasika asked him about his reminiscences of the concerts with the great SSI. How can we all forget the pre 1970 tanis of Sankaran sir with Sri SSI? As rightly put by him - 'Those Great Wonderful Days...'
RFA folks have done a good job in deciding to hold a lec-dem of Sankaran sir, this is their maiden attempt for a lec-dem it seems... It was very well arranged though the program began little late than the scheduled time (thanks to the sound engineer
). I am sure this will be a big boost for them; considering their young age (1 plus years old) as a Sabha.
