No idea what mararuDaigaL means (in the 3rd caraNam) - could it be mara-uDaigaL - bark garments? If so, what is the connection to mylApUr sthala purANam?
Same caraNam - what is the story of kAmAkshi asking for anything from EkAmrESvara (kaNavanai vENDiDuvAL)?

rshankar,
At mayilai (Mylapore), Mother takes the form of mayil (peahen) and worships the Lord. 'mararuDaigaL' seems to be mutilated. If it means 'bark', then normally 'maravuri' is used. 'maravuri' does not necessarily mean 'bark of tree' but also 'sAri made of fibre of bark of tree (நார்ச்சீலை).
Regarding vENDiDuvAL - it also means 'yearn', 'seek'. Mother kAmAkshi does penance under a mango tree to propitiate Lord Siva to marry her.

Thank you VGV. I am aware of the story of mylApUr, but wondered where the detail about pAravti's garments came from.

The word 'mararuDaigaL' could be 'mayUra uDalagaL (mayUravuDalgaL) or 'mayUra uDaigaL' (mayUravuDaigaL) or 'mayUra ADaigaL' (mayUrADaigaL) or 'mayUra vEDangaL' (mayUravEDangaL). Observing the general trend of pluralisation, it is most likely to be 'mayUravuDalgaL' or 'mayUrADaigaL' or 'mayUravuDaigaL'- depending on the metre.

There are some (typo?) errors -
jnyAnapAl taruvAL kazhiyilE sIrkAzhiyilE nambikkai OLi taruvAL vazhvinilE nam vazhvinilE
mOna pazham taruvAL kayilaiyilE tiru kayilayilE - because the kRti is in 3rd person.

Further 'tarippAL' is a tatsama usage which need not be converted to 'dharippAL'.

btw - vENDudal also means 'pray'.

PS-
sthala purANam of Mylapore is in this link - http://www.mayyam.com/talk/viewlite.php?t=8108
As per the description, the word 'mayilArppu' has changed (மருவுதல்) into 'Myalpore'. In my humble opinion, this would have been 'mayilAguvUr' or 'mayilAgupuram' which, over a period of time has changed as 'Mylapore'.

1-It is mara udaigaL (or urigaL) dharipAL : mara uri dharithal is a prelude to an ascetic or pious act(ref Rama and co ) , like we wear pattu or "madi" dress before puja etc..( black dhothi for Ayyappa or red dress for Adhiparaasakthi) the wearing of something specific becomes symbolic of the proposed action( neegaL maalai pOttukittEngaLa
means are you going on a pilgrimage to sabarimala). Parvathi is doing a penance(thapas) to marry shiva at mylapore.[ she dons the robe of a thapaswini at mylapore in contrast to her bridal dress at madurai]
2-kaNavanai vEnduvAL : venduthal means also to WORSHIP. Parvathi makes a linga out of sand and worships her husband in that form
3-kadaikaN kAttiduvAL at Kashiyile would be appropriate where her name is vishalakshi(broad eyed )-kadaikkaN pAramma is very common in ambal prayers.
