I listened to Shri Sandeep this season at the Music Academy and enjoyed his concert. I walked in and found a seat while he was singing the Varnam. The sound levels were a little high for me all throughout. He has a loud voice that tends to sound harsh at times but he is very confident. There were many moments of good music which was well received by the audience. I could not help but notice that the list had many songs sung and popularized by his guru, his mannerisms and imitations including. I heard Shri Rajiv the previous day for Shri Rithvik and he seems a consistent performer on the violin who is preferred by this young crop of vocalists. Shri Ganapathiraman and Shri Guruprasad were a perfect foil and contributed to the concert. Though an enjoyable concert, Shri Sandeep lacks clarity in pronunciation and has a tendency to create high decibel climaxes that are more taxing on the ears than pleasing. With a little more mellowing and maturity, he can be an artist to reckon with in the near future.

Another such loudspeaker is Ramakrishnan Murthy whose music is too good in parts and too aggressive in parts.
I recollect listening to Karunakara Madhava Begada krithi of Swathi Thirunal from Ramakrishnan Murthy's version and Sriranjani Santanagopalan's version (both downloaded from Sangeethapriya.org) and i was immediately able to feel the aggression and immaturity in the formers and the sowkhyam and scholarship in the latter. I think Ramakrishnan has inherited this aggression from his guru TMK. I have noticed that while singing certain phrases Mr TMK will bite his lower lips with his teeth as a very aggressive way to get that sangati.
But for a person who is new to carnatic music or to a layman rasika the loudness and super fast korvais etc (like that one Ramakrishnan sings to close the begada song's swarams) is usually mistaken for vidwat.

Amrutha Venkatesh is also another artiste whose music does not have any anaavasiyams. Really comforting to hear all the sangatis she sings - full of bhavam. Amongst younger gents i will Saketaraman S is the singer whose singing emanates a lot of sowkhyam.

Is Ramakrishna Murthy learning from TMK? I doubt.

I think somewhere in this portal only i read that Ramakrishnan Murthy is a student of TMK.
But i stand corrected , RKM is a student of Delhi Sunderrajan.

Can you share the links? My recollection is that Ramakrishnan Murthy's approach is a lot more mellow and without suitable amplification can get lost especially in noisy venues. Sandeep Narayan is on the other end of the spectrum.
