A REFERENCE MUSICIAN

Post by KNV1955 »

This is in continuation of Rsachi's post on Sruti Alignment. A broad framework used by HV Srivatsan violinist(who accompanied KVN in concerts & learned from him) in his analysis of KVN music used the following aspects 1. Perfection in Sruti 2. Proficiency in laya 3. Chaste rendition of Kritis 4. Depth of manodharma 5. Kalpana Swaras 6. Efficient vocal technique 7. Spontaneous creativity 8. Wide concert repertoire 9. Dignified Stage presence 10. Ability to sing unaffected by variables. 11. Stamina to maintain high energy level. 12. Ability to move the listener to higher plane. Every concert musician should be analysed on all the above aspects. No doubt a good voice & perfection in Sruti is a must for a vocalist.
