I had learnt this kriti long back.
Checked it and found that there is no A.P.

In the book Peruvudaiyan Perisai the line starting with vAdulEla is indicated as anupallavi and the line starting with nIdu shambu is indicated as madhyamakAla.

We sang it without stopping at the anupallavi,

but the line * nIdu ShamBhu* was sung in madhyamakala.

I have heard the the MD school calls the raga Kashiramakriya. How come Ponniah, a disciple, calls this Pantuvarali? Or is it originally in Shubhapantuvarali?

'nIdu sommu' is how I learnt the beginning of the madhyamakala passage.

Good point Sachi. Ponnayya has used mELa names like bhinnaSaDja, SailadEshAkSi and cAmara for his other mELakRtis, maybe this is an exception [like the 2-3 exceptions that dikSitar has made - sUlini, hemavati, narmadA and half an exception by saying nata-bhairave in the nArI-rItigaULa song].


Brinda-Mukta sang it in the 51 mela version, and not shubhapantuvarAli.
