Sruti - The India Music and Dance Society, Philadelphia presents a week long residency with Malavika Sarukkai beginning on Sunday, April 6th and culminating with her performance Ganga Nitya Vaahini on April 12th.
The programs will be held at various venues in Philadelphia and suburbs. Here are the programs that are presented as part of this residency.
Sunday, April 6th - Master classes with Malavika Sarukkai starting with Beginner progressing to Intermediate and finishing with Advanced students. Free and open to audience
Monday, April 7th - Screening of "The Unseen Documentary". Free to public
Wednesday, April 9th - Lecture Demonstration at the renowned Mantap hall exhibit of the Philadelphia Museum of the Art - Part of Pay as You Wish Wednesday evenings at the museum open to public
Thursday, April 10th - Professional Dance Workshop by Malavika Sarukkai, is a day-long workshop bringing together professional dance artists representing different disciplines and traditions to consider areas of mutual interest. Malavika Sarukkai will co-present the various segments with professional dancers Kun-Yang Lin, Germaine Ingram, Valda Setterfield, Session will be moderated by Hari Krishnan from Wesleyn University. This event is open only to the selected participants.
Saturday, April 12th - Grand finale of the week-long activities. Ganga Nithya Vaahini at the Annenberg Center, Philadelphia.
