The mike system is yet to settle down. Bright flood lights borrowed from some election campaign venue and a raucous evening college crowd do not help. But RKM is getting into the mood and the veterans who dragged chairs into a new and closer front row are nodding their heads in approval. Charumathi Raghuraman is sounding good in her replies. KV Prasad and Guruprasanna are settling down with the indifferent mike settings. The first item VanajAkashi aTa tALa Varnam was washed out into inaudibility..

But who cares... My favourite artiste is singing with a great team

:-$ A brisk but melodious toli nenu jesina in kOkiladhvani of Thyagaraja with a round of swaras..
And the mike settles down and RKM delivers a simply brilliant mukhAri alapana. Full of delicate filigree and honeylike melody. A good response by Charumathi. kshINamai is on. Authoritative niraval at edi jesina.. Nice swaras. Singing very comfortably at the upper octave section..
Decent size crowd has arrived and settled down...

After an electric Bhogindra shayinam, he has launched into a brilliant Hamir Kalyani. Silken touches..
Wait, Charumathi is freaking out in her response in the alapana.. What a mood indeed!

Abhimanamu Leda... Full works. Great swaras. Violin combined really well. Tani was sparkling.
Khamas matadabAradeno.. Ragamalika shloka and jagadoddharana. Jinjhuti tillana of Seshanna. Mangalam (ramachandrAya)

Blockbuster concert. After a series of disaster what a way to get relieved.

I don't recollect so well but RKM sang that shloka from kRShNAShTakaM in ragas yamunA kalyANi, nAdanAmakriyA, and kApi. Right?

RSachi, That running commentary or listening commentary was very interesting. I can understand how much you enjoyed the concert. Nice songs in the concert by RKMurthy. Tolinesjesina, Bhogeendrasayinam and Mathadabaradeno are KVN favourites and RKM will definitely bring in KVN feel immensely in these songs. I have also enjoyed many of his recent concerts. Waiting for many more listening commentaries from you.

It's a bit like the world of commentators then and now.. Melville Demello, Jasdev Singh, Peter Roebuck....giving way to Rameez Raja and Harsha Bhogle!

Hi Folks,

I am in Bangalore and will be visiting Chennai next week as well.
Been soaked in the Rama Navami music concerts.
I attended 3 at Seshadripuram - and RKM was one of them.
Loved the Mukhari particularly and am delighted by the KVN effect that RKM provides to all his listeners.
