pb,
This kRti seems to have many versions - This is one such version. I wanted to find out whether there is any authoritative version of the kRti and if so which one is.
Thanks for your response.

VGV - it is not a kRti but a lakshaNa gIte.
But even in this small composition, Sri Purandara Dasaru condenses very profound philosophical thoughts - As I understand it (with my limitted kannaDA), he is exhorting people to "look at (kANirO) all (antE) the blessed ones (varava paDedavaru), who return the water (nIranu) from the pond/lake (kereya) back to the pond (kerege calli)," and says, "so too must you live (bratukirO) by offering (samarpaNe mADi) all the good fortune (bhAgyava) that comes your way through the compassion (karuNadoLAda) of vishNu (hariya), back to vishnu (hari)!"

Re: Dasara kRti - keraya nIranu
To the best of my knowledge and understanding of grammar and meaning, the following is correct:
kereya nIranu kerage calli
varava paDedavarante kANirO
hariya karuNadoLAda bhAgyava
hari samarpaNe mADi badukiro
Sri purandara viTTalarAyAna
caraNa kamalava nambi badukirO
Like pouring the water from the lake back into the lake,
Live in the true spirit of gratefully accepting all as His grace
Whatever happens/comes your way, due to Hari's kindness/grace
Offer back to Hari and thus live
( a moot question: is there truly ANYTHING we can say is our own and then offer to God as our offering!?!)
Place your total faith in the lotus feet of Sri Purandaravitthala, and thus live.
This verse reflects the famous lines of Isavasya Upanishad:
īśāvāsyam idam sarvam ¦ yat kiñca jagatyām jagat |
tena tyaktena bhuñjīthā ¦ mā gRdhahḥ kasya sviddhanam ||
