Sappri,
Thank you for your post. Hope many rasikAs make it to Raga Sudha Hall to hear 'our Gnaanam' personified. I miss myself there, for sure...
Parivadini,
What an interview! nidAnam, niRaiya vishayam (laid back, with substance). May your good work increase! Your presence in the CM music world is very much appreciated by rasikAs.
And to Neela, a precious friend...
You are a shining star--in your vidvat, imagination, hard work and determination. Add to it your spirit, sense of humor and immense desire to impart your gifts to young musicians.
Your kAru baaru and kAmAkshi, like your many other songs and surrounding rAgAs, neravals, svarams and RTPs will stay with me and give me joy
Many happy, healthy returns of the day, and God bless!

Neelaji's interview was a superb program. Thanks to Parivadini for telecasting the same in youtube for free.
She is so natural and at complete ease during the interview and so simply funny too.
Amazing the heights she has reached despite starting so late; very inspiring.

Thank you arasi and Harishankar ji. If the interview has come out well, all credits to Neela mami for the way she took on the questions and spoke in a lucid way. When she sang the varali piece, it haunted me for several days after the interview not allowing me to listen to anything else.
The live webcast of her concert on the 30th can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0NrVK5Qk8u4

Could stay only till bilahari alapanai; was fabulous throughout. First ever time came across ata tala varnam in mOhanam. An amazing niraval for charukesi and a grand dEvi brOva.

sankark,
I'm glad you could go. Yes, it was a typical Neela concert. I heard most of the streaming. A fabulous vocalist she certainly is.

We were *blessed* to have been present to listen to this *most amazing* concert live.... the Mohana Varnam was by Muthiah Bhagavathar (it was preceded by a most wonderful 'ugabhoga'...); Right thro the concert most of us in the audience had this constant "choking" feeling overcome by emotion listening to the concert....
If the charukesi alapanai, the brilliant neraval-swaram was to die for, the bilahari alapanai honestly had that "welling up in the throat" feeling right thro - as was the wonderful neraval-swaram.
The post-thani section - had this most most "moving" virutham in Kharaharapriya, Ranjani (? if I recall right), Valaji, Sindhu bhairavi followed by Vaa-vaa-velavaa; the great great great concert concluded with a Javali - Apadooruku (Khamas)
Despite the IPL (and Chennai playing in the playoffs) it was a very good audience - Amrita Murali, Prasanna Venkatraman, Ramakrishnan Murthy, disciples of Vedavalli-amma, disciples of TMK, Sangeetha etc were present
