Raag Gara carnatic equivalent

Hi
Have recently been enchanted very much by this Hindustani raga.
A number of hindustani recitals (vocal and instrumental) are available in youtube on this raga.

Could some experts please tell me if there is an equivalent for this raga in Carnatic system.

and her first portion sounds just like Piloo and beyond 6 min she goes off to touches of Ahir Bhairav...and come back to Piloo around 7 min...

Subba Rao in his Raganidhi says this raga is a mish mash of Piloo, Jaijaivanti etc and is a 'kshudra"raga suitable only for light numbers like thumris. He says the tune of Jagadoddharana is akin to Gara. (Kapi=Piloo)

kshudra raga ? never knew such classifications existed.
It is said that one can judge the age of a person by observing whether he walks around a puddle or through it.
Gara is for children who like to splash around..

Thank you all for your observations. This is a very popular raga in hindustani music. I urge you to listen to the below song sung by Lata Mangeshkar in raag Gara from the film Reshma and Shera. 'Ek mithi si chubhan'

The phrase 'Man ka aangan jo soona tha' perhaps gives the most melodious and best Gara prayog.
It is also the film for which the actress Waheeda Rehman won the National Award for best actress.

BUT I STILL AM LOOKING FOR MY ANSWER ON THE CARNATIC EQUIVALENT. IT DOES SOUND LIKE KAPI TO ME AT ALL.
