Difference between Kilikani and Kavadi Chindu

Can someone please explain the diference between Kavadi Chindu and Kilikani. And if possible, please suggest some Kilikanis. Tried searching the smae in google, however the search did not yield results.

Some quick differences I could think of: (Corrections are welcome)
First
KilikaNNi is always addressed to the Kili (Parakeet, or a description of a Sakhi who is a pretty girl). The word "KiLiyE" appears in the third line of each stanza.
Kavadi Chindu is either addressed to the God or is a statement of his glory. The god is mostly Murugan.
Second
KilikaNNi is made of stanzas of even length and movement, whereas Kavadi Chindu has words sung with different speeds within a stanza.


Some examples of KilikaNNi are "nenjil uramuminri' by Bharatiyar and "Valli kanavan perai" whose composer I think is unknown.

Explanation about the differences between the two poems is mainly based on details of grammatical rules of Tamil prosody and will not be appropriate in this place. Sorry. ( e.g.I have explained such things in my book on Tamil prosody-rules , "kavithai iyatrik kalakku")

I suggest a simple 'visual' and 'musical' comparison of the lyrics of several popular Kavadi Chindhu-s(KC) and KiLik kaNNi-s(KK) to undertand the structural and musical differences. Two kiLik kaNNi-s should suffice to give an idea about the structure of that type of Tamil poem. 1) vaLLi kaNavan pErai ( popularized by DKPattammAL ) 2) nenjil uramuminRi nErmaith thiRauminRi ( a Subramanya Bharathi song. ) .

There are also several types of Kavadi Chindhu-s. One can say that in general, KC is a tougher form to compose. Musically also much different, as can be ascertained by listening to both types.

Are these generally sung in chenchuruTTi or punnAga varALi?

noNdic chindhu ( NC) seems quite elusive to categorize grammatically. Again examples are the ones we can go by. ( Some story about a robber who became a 'noNdi' after being punished and these types of poems/songs about his life...etc exists about origin of name. Not very clear) In 'Nandhanar', there are three NC:
aiyE oru sEdhi ( acc. to an old book : sung in Bhairavi) , pazhana marunganaiyum, vegu nallavarE.
(both in punnAgavarALi)

A different type is by Bharathi : e.g. nenju poRukkudhilaiyE .
