Dear Rasikas,
We felt like sharing Vidwan Yesudas's fine inner feelings and his repertoire of songs in many Raagas once again with you. This is from the 1992 "Parvathi", Mysore series. He is in the wonderful company of T.G.Tyagarajan on Violin, T.A.S.Mani on Mridangam and M.A.Krishnamurthy on the Ghatam.
Please welcome to KJY-1992-Parvathi-Mys or http://chowdaiahandparvati.blogspot.com/

I wanted to hear how KJY sings taanam , but it is just Ragam and Pallavi , no taanam - you can make the correction.

Dear Rsachi,
Thanks a million for posting the PARVATHI Recordings of VINTAGE MUSIC by Great artists. As I had observed before the ARTISTS-MANY OF THEM HAVE TOLD ME that their BEST CONCERTS were outside of Chennai& its STUFFY SABHAS- I am from Chennai my self- but used to come to B'LORE&MYSORE for the RamaNavami concerts annually apart from playing cricket!-; MANY MANY STALWARTS have told me that the GENUINE INTEREST, KNOWLEDGE & APPRECIATION OF GREAT MUSIC NOT TO MENTION THE GENUINE RESPECT&HOSPITALITY propelled them to excel themselves. For example M.SOMU not only chose his accompanists-Chalakkudi&UPENDRAN carefully but the compostions very carefully & the PARAVATHI CONCERTS are the only publicly available concerts that give a glimplse of WHAT THE GREAT CONCERTS USED TO BE....
I REQUEST you to kindly present as many of the Parvathi Concerts as possible to the Rasikas.....thanks, vkv :ymapplause: :ymapplause:

Dear VKV,
I shall take your positive encouragement back to the family ...you're the Vashishta in this field and your blessing will go a long way.
Mr K Srikantiah continues, even though he is 86+, totally at his own personal cost and effort, to conduct a five day festival every year in Aug-Sept. God verily gives strength and motivation for such "givers".
Thank you
Sachi R

Dear Sachi R, VERY FEW KNOW ABOUT THIS GREAT SOUL WHO HAS DONE SO MUCH FOR OUR MUSIC. Certainly the ones who matter like the great musicians know; May be we should start a thread about them; I will write about BOB BROWN; Maybe you can write about him & others can write about the ones they know.....VKV
