All those who have made pledge to support the cause, Please arrange for the payment and confirm. I am also requesting vast majority of members who have not responded, Please actively consider to join the few of us and make it a truly rasikas.org initiative idea. What for we are hesitating? Does it cost more than big size Pizza? Does it cost more than a family fine dining? I am fervently hoping that at least 30% of total members join us to be together in this initiative and a noble cause. I am sure your enjoyment of festivals ahead will be much more with your spirit and support for this cause.

Thanks for the support. My suggestion for the selection is : 1. Health 2. Age 3. Urgent, specific need 4. Number of years of service 5. Technical skill in playing 6. Playing, supporting the main /artist(s). 7. Discipline and behavior. 8. Any other merits 9. location. This have I have conveyed to our leader Sri KNS. CAC will identify and select the artists, based on the need and merit.

munirao, I got some feedback that it is hard to find the info for transfer among all these posts. Can you please summarize it in post below. Provide these three pieces with no clutter. And make sure you fix the issue with the number in the bank transfer

1. For those who want to send a check by post
2. For those who want to wire-transfer
3. For both cases, above, the details on communicating that to carnatica.

If you want me to do it, please let me know. Also, after you provide that, I will copy and paste it to the first post of this thread (which is from you).

Second, I am hearing from a few people who want to transfer money from U.S. but finding the xfer charges to be disproportionately high. For example, local banks charge a minimum of $15-$20 and that is a lot for a $100 transfer. I use ICICI money to india, they charge me a couple of dollars and they can send from a non ICICI U.S. account to a non ICICI indian account. It takes a week to transfer. You need to setup your bank account with ICICI and that can take a few days and then the 5 days for transfer. Given the 15th deadline, get on it asap.

I heard ICICI service is available from many other countries as well.

Don't treat it as a personal attestation on my part of their service. All I know is a few times I used them, it worked fine.

In case you still have difficulties doing this and still want to contribute, let me know through my forum email and we can discuss alternatives.

Carnatica Team acknowledges the receipts. Receipts will be issued by CAC, soon. As CAC has IT exemption granted, the accounting procedure shall be complied to meet the statutory requirements.
Except for the members who had sent the pledges to VK, with the exception of one member confirming transfer/payment of INR4,000/-, transfers and payment of INR19,000/- is awaited. I am waiting to hear from CAC on the total amount contributed and received. I guess it should be INR1,10,000/-appx.

Not yet from anyone from the original list. I am sure they will taking care of it even if they do not inform me. But just to be sure, in case they had not visited this thread, I will send them a note to visit this thread again for the latest.

Another pledge of $100 came in and they are working on the money transfer logistics. Hopefully they will work that out by Monday. If delayed for whatever reason, I may seek an extension of the dead line by a few days on their behalf.

Status update: All those who pledged privately have come through. The total is Rs. 32050.00 ( after adjusting for those who sent me email but later posted their contribution in this thread. I did not count them in coming up with the above amount to avoid double counting)

Munirao, to be on the safe side, It will be prudent to wait till coming Monday the 20th to let all the transfers of the last few days to complete.

Carnatica should have the info on all the contributors. In keeping with the wishes of the private donors, do not post the full list of donors here. But do post the total amount that carnatica has received.

Members contribution together with the receipts through donor passes for the benefit concert, Vid.Aruna Sairam on SUN2-NOV-14 will be the fund earmarked for this cause. There were two mistakes in this report. One 'Tampura Welfare Fund' instead of Tampura Artists Welfare Fund and the second the Narada Gana Sabha Vendue as Bengaluru.
Hoping the rasikas will ignore these two mistakes.
