Kutcherribuzz will be bringing out a booklet "Sri Ramanavami Music Fest Guide" which would be available at all concert venues in bangalore from 7th april...they will also release a softcopy of the booklet for online reference similar to what was available last yr....

Dear friends,

The Hindu has a engagement column and would normally list the concerts under music heading.The paper Deccan Herald also lists the concerts under Engagements section.
Although Kutcheribuzz brings out the list,you should be lucky to get it.
Our friend has already listed 3 major Ramanavami festivals.

All In Bangalore/Mysore,
Unlike chennai where 90% concerts are published in daily engagement column in THE HINDU, all of you are at a disadvantage . Possibly all carnatic rasikas buy the hindu, I am not sure if The hindu , Bangalore publishes like the hindu chennai. Apart from Jayan's useful blog - with kutcheris.com at times not updating that often, information dissemination on concert is at times difficult in Bangalore. You all should post all your forth coming concert announcements right here in the same topic and continue with more posts . I suggest all of you in bangalore/mysore can also bookmark this webpage so in the event of you not logging in daily , you can quickly look at the link to see any of the concerts are in your area . Some times opening new topics also do not work , rasikas donot look on time(as the case of kssr in a recent post). If you all consistenly post in the same topic more eyeballs will look into it.

Of late for nearly 2 years I am seeing Bangalore is really rocking with more concerts and more importantly you donot have 30 minute- 60 minute- 90 minute noodles like concert. Just bumping up the post for Bangalore Royal challengers.

WE had a calendar functionality in PHpbb done here and then vijay from US came up with a neat one . But after that kutcheris.com indeed did a fine job and is continuing well , but at times the updates are not happening that often . May be Ramkumar, Rithvik raja or vikram raghavan can bring in a full fledged functionality where it empowers musicians to publish data in a structure in the backend and the web rendering happens from there . Kutcheris.com is the best so far . Ramkumar can answer that .

I asked this question before not got an answer . Does the hindu bangalore have a page 4 like the hindu chennai where on an everyday it lists out the events as a Cinema-Arts-Events section . I do know other dailies excepting The Hindu hardly care ?

The way I think it can work is to have a shared calendar accessible as a tab/thread. Any logged in person can add an event. It will be visible to everyone. And only that member can alter or edit or delete it.
All events will automatically expire after 30 days after the event.

I am still curious to get the answer for the above question. Does any one in the forum who is from bangalore who buys the hindu bangalore edition answer the question. Do you have the same Cinema-Ats-Events section. Do sabhas like nadasurabi, gayana samaja etc put the events in Bangalore edition on a recurring basis.

Rajesh,
As someone who spends several weeks in Bengaluru every year, the first thing in the morning I do is to look at the Engagements columns (we get more than one paper). In all these years, I have found that not all papers publish all concerts. Even if they do, not enough info is there--sometimes, even errors. A network of rasikas who get different papers exchange info.

Thanks to Braindrain, we do not have to worry about information on musical events ever since he became the ready reckoner for accurate info. Of course, we still glance at the papers

The Hindu and Deccan Herald have Metro and Friday review type of pages where they mention the concerts happening over next few days. It is our principal source of info. Rasikas.org and the braindrain blog are additional sources.

As such like The Hindu chennai edition you dont have a daily page which typically gives that day concert schedule . I wish Hindu Bangalore exactly does what it does for Chennai.
