Sri OVK says that the bhAgavatam is like a fruit that has not been pierced (tuLaikkAda) by an aggressive/attacking (muNDiDum) bee (vaNDu) called (ennum) worldly existence (bhavam).HarishankarK wrote:What is the meaning of 'mUNDiDum bhAvamenum vaNDu tuLaikkAda'?
Please note that it is bhavamenum and not bhAvamenum

Re: Lyircs for Pazhamo Pazhamo Pazham Bhagawatha
Sri G. S. Mani once said in a lecture that the rAga gaurimanOhari is the rAga of proclamation (and hence its use by Sri Tyagaraja for his composition, gurulEkha)...in that vein, it is very appropriate that Sri OVK has set his proclamation about the greatness of the bhAgavatm in this rAga.
pallavi:
pazhamO pazhamO pazham (bhAgavata)
bhavabhayamenum oru iruLai keDutta
shukamuni enum kiLi kotti koDutta (pazhamO)
This bhAgavatam is a fruit (pazhamO pazham), a fruit that dispels (keDutta) the darkness (oru iruLai) that is (ennum) fear (bhayam) of this worldly existence (bhava), a fruit that has been pecked (kotti) and given (koDutta) to us by a parrot (kiLi) [1] called (ennum) Suka muni.
anupallavi:
azhagAna mAmarait tarumElE
idu yArukkum aridAnat- tanmaiyAlE
muzhu mOnap poruLukku ivaipOlE
mun sheida tIvinai enum nArillAda
mUNDiDum bhavamenum vaNDu tuLaikkAda (pazhamO)
This fruit is devoid (illAda) of fibrous tissue (nAru) that comes from the consequences of previous (mun seida) bad deeds (tIvinai), and aggressive/attacking (mUNDIDum) swarms of bees (vaNDU) have not bored holes (tuLaikkAda) into this fruit because this (idu) fruit, which is found on top (mElE) a beautiful (azhagAna) tree (taru) made of the mighty (mA) vEdas (maRai) is dear (aridAna tanmaiyAlE) to everyone (yarukkum), and is an example (ivaipOle) of the essence (porulukku) of divine silence (muzhu mOna).
caraNam:
tEDi tirindAlum kANa kiDaikkAdu deiva aruLai pOlE kaDaiyil kiDaikkAdu
ADikkATril vizhavO eLidAi irukkAdu adarkkenna matroru
kAlamAgaTTum appOdu pArppOmE enrAl eppOdum kiDaikkAda (pazhamO)
It will not be possible to behold (kANa kiDaikkAdu) this even if one were to wander (tirindAlum) around, in search (tEDi) of it, things like (pOle) divine (deiva) grace (aruLai) cannot be found (kiDaikkAdu) in a shop (kaDaiyil). And a fruit such as this will not (irukkAdu) fall (vizhavo) easily (eLidAi) as it sways (ADi) [2] when the wind blows (kATRil). And if one says (enrAl), ‘so (adarakku) what (enna), (there is no hurry now), and there will be (AgaTTum) another (maTRoru) time (kAlam), when (appOdu) we can make it happen/see (pArppOm)’, then it is a (fruit, this bhAgavatam) that will never (eppOdum) become ours (kiDaikkAda).

In post #2, the lyrics was provided as given in the link referred to therein.
Now, based on the lyrics (in Tamil) given in the 'Sri Krishnaganam' book published by K. Rajammal (w/o Neelamangalam Krishnamurti Bhagavathar), a few typos/errors are noticed:-
AP:
idu - adu
nArillAda - nArillAdu
bhAvamenum - pAvamenum
C:
matroru - maTRoru

Re: Lyircs for Pazhamo Pazhamo Pazham Bhagawatha
rshankar ji ,
the line azhagAna mAmarait tarumElE
which means (as per the meaning that you have posted)
the fruit which is found on top(mElE)of a beautiful(azhagAna) tree(taru) made of the mighty(mA) vEdas(maRai).
but i had a different interpretation of the same line,
please correct me if this is wrong!
so can azhagAna mAmarait tarumElE mean,
the fruit which is found on top(mElE) of a beautiful(azhagAna) mango tree (mAmarait taru)
the reason why i interpreted this way is
1. this compositions refers to bhagavatham as told by shuka muni
(here the shuka muni is personification of parrot like nature, KiLipiLLai which is capable of repeating what is taught to it)
2.also this compositions compares bhagavatham to a fruit.
(bhagavatham can be compared to mango. As mango is considered as king among fruits)
(parrots are very capable of finding the completely ripened mango fruits)
so from 1 and 2,
the parrot(who is shuka muni) could find out the completely ripened mango(which is bhagavatham fruit).

Re: Lyircs for Pazhamo Pazhamo Pazham Bhagawatha
For your interpretation to be correct, I think the phrase should be: mAmara taru mElE (மாமர தரு மேலே). But if it is mAmaRai taru mElE (மாமறை தரு மேலே), then I think it refers to the vEdas. I get the reference to the mango, as Sri OVK says the bhAgavatam is like a mango fruit without the fibrous elements, but I don't think marai (மரை) fits here. Others like Rajani, Arasi, and PB can correct me.

Re: Lyircs for Pazhamo Pazhamo Pazham Bhagawatha
you are right shankar ji,
i have not heard anyone sing like ma-maram, they sing as ma-marai only.
might be my interpretation was extrapolation of facts. LoL
