Sri Mudikondan Ramesh plays the veena in a very virtuosic style. He sings along most of the time. He is able to vocalise on the veena as well as by voice all his creative ideas. He offered here Shanmukhapriya, Kumudakriya, Navarasakannada, Natakapriya, Kiravani, a ragamalika Asthapadi.
I liked his ideas, his approach to exploring ragas; he stays on notes to savour the inherent beauty in them.
He was lucky in his accompanists, full of support and appreciation throughout.

I remember him as a very good judge in the Naad Bhed contest also.

A new-to-me artist, so the name did not catch my eye. Luckily, my wife said, "I want to go to a veena concert today."

We were there, and it was a thoroughly enjoyable concert indeed.

I am so glad you two could hear him.

Though I had heard about him, I could only hear him in person when he played in a segment of Gayathri Girish's series on MD at KGS. I wanted to hear his solo, but by then his concerts in Chennai were done.

This year, he was at the Cleveland Festival. As Sachi did, I heard him play there several times through streaming--his playing for the dance productions as well (as it's the custom at the festival where all artistes are roped in to play for the productions).

I have listened to Shri Mudikondan Ramesh at a concert in my teacher's( Shri PNK ) house in Mumbai long back. A wonderful artist and it was a very good concert. Listened to him in MA once afterwards. Will listen to this. Could not watch the live telecast.
